So now, it is done. It has been a labor of delight, sorrow, love and loathing. Interestingly enough, one would think that now, having finished this very long book, I would view your feedback with some trepidation.

Curious as it may seem to you – no. I have no trepidation at all.

I think it’s because the sole purpose of this book has always been to express my own, very personal feelings about the tarot. But do not equate “personal” with “unique.” I make absolutely no pretense that my thoughts, feelings, interpretations and “insights” are in any way unique. I am a student of the tarot and I mean this in the most literal sense. I have learned at the metaphorical feet of giants and it is because of them and their gifts that this deck and book exist; a set that expresses how I look at the tarot, how I articulate it, both with words and with images. That is all, and no more.

...Think of this book as a special pair of glasses which, if you put them on, will enable you to look at the Blue Rose images through my eyes... seeing what I see... feeling what I feel. It is a very, very personal journal of one person’s inner exploration – nothing more, nothing less. It’s just me... talking aloud... talking to myself... counseling myself... scolding myself. These essays are not meant to be memorized – which wouldn’t be possible anyway – because they are word paintings of the cards. These word paintings exist to create a mood, a setting ripe for looking at the Blue Rose cards. Hopefully, these words, settings and mood will draw you in so that you can develop your own special relationship with the images.
